I’m a little late with this update, but I have met my first weight loss goal as of last week. 10kg down in under 5 months. I’ve lost another kilo since then also. That’s also 2 jean sizes down, and I’m now at a healthy BMI.
What I’ve noticed:
- It gets easier
- a plateau never developed
- I feel lighter
- I have less pain
- I’ve saved money on food
What I did to get here:
- Intensive whole foods plant-based (reduced oil) diet for 3 months
- Time-restricted eating – nearly every day, eating in an 8hr window
- Went from no exercise due to injury and built up to about 30 min – 1.5 hrs of activity per day
- smaller portion sizes, smaller plates
- From 4-5 months having the occassional small treat and generally having a sustainable lifestyle diet of plant-based foods, no sugar.
With these powers combined – I am a health and weight loss queen!
Whichever way you want to look at it, I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of time off in the past 6 months which meant I could focus on getting well, but I know others can do this too. It’s the little things that add up to good health and weight loss. Getting rid of sugar from your diet is one simple way of reducing empty calories. The same goes for unnecessary oils. Margarine is a thing of the past for me. I’ve narrowed down my food options to find those that have slightly less fat than other foods, because every gram can count. What I’ve done may not work for you, but you can figure out what does, I’m also here to help you figure it out. It’s like a puzzle, and it’s been an interesting journey. I don’t believe in fad diets. What I do believe in is sustainable diets full of whole foods and rejecting processed foods. You’ve got to be in this for the long haul and the best way is to be all in 99% of the time.
