December update

Woohoo! I have completed 2 units of my counselling degree. It has been intense and surprisingly academic, but I got there. Now for a well-earned break over Christmas, I’m keen to start again in January.

On the weight loss and fitness front, I’ve been very pleased with my progress. I keep expecting that so-called ‘plateau’ to happen, and I’m glad to report that it has not. I had a slowdown in weight loss, but it has been consistent and more sustainable. I am now down 14kg. As I start to head to my optimum weight, my body will try to hold on to more, especially as I increase my exercise and nutrition to accommodate. So this slowdown is perfectly fine. Muscle weighs more than fat, after all.

I have also moved into my new apartment complex, which has a pool. Due to some typical Meg-type injuries, I need to keep things low-impact for a while, so the pool is super helpful.

I had been looking forward to a trip in November – what many would consider a bucket list trip across the Nullarbor Plain. But alas, the day before we were due to leave I got sick. Some fluey thing 🙁 . This was a work trip so hubby had to continue on his own. I also had assignments to try to push through as well. Thankfully I recovered much quicker than expected and I was able to hop on a plane to experience the last part of the trip in Adelaide.

Now let me just sit back and enjoy these next few weeks before going full throttle again!
